for tonight’s season premiere.
2014年10月25日starts off season 9 with Khalil Mack Black Jersey aWe’re longtime fans of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm here at Comedy Examiner HQ if you’ve never seen the show, they basically improved the Seinfeld formula by removing the laughtrack and adding a whole bunch of swearing and even though Louie and Wilfred (both on FX) have satiated our comedic cravings lately, Curb Your Enthusiasm has been the TV comedy we’ve really been looking forward to. So, how was tonight’s premiere? Read on for our review, my gentle Examiner readers. The misanthropic adventures of Larry David on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm are a bit of an acquired taste: sometimes things on Curb Your Enthusiasm get really, really dark, and if you’re more the type that enjoys a sitcom based Blake Bortles Youth Jersey around family values, wacky misunderstandings between spouses, or (insert every According to Jim plotline here), then Larry David’s Seinfeld redux is almost certainly not for you. And not for nothing but if you’re not a Curb Your Enthusiasm fan, well, we probably don’t have much to talk about. It’s kinda like Doors people and Pink Floyd people: there are people who Khalil Mack Authentic Jersey love The Doors and there are people who love Pink Floyd, but no one loves both equally. And depending on which band you appreciate most a lot can be determined about your personality. All of that was a very long winded way of saying that we’ve been looking forward to the ninth season premiere of HBO’s best comedy for months. In point of fact, we’ve been looking forward to the new season ever since it was announced. After last season’s excellent finale where the faux Seinfeld reunion plotline was brought to a bizzaro close and Larry seemed to make amends (albeit very briefly) with his on again/off again wife, Cheryl (Cheryl Hines) we couldn’t wait to see what Larry would come Blake Bortles Kids Jersey up with next: each new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is built around some grandiose idea, an engine that drives the entire season and serves as the catalyst for any number of subplots. Last year, it was the Seinfeld reunion and Larry’s attempts to get back together with Cheryl. This year, it’s.Actually, we’re not sure. A handful of Curb episodes were sent out to critics prior to tonight’s season premiere, but none of them gave away anything about the season that lies ahead. In fact, none of them were even tonight’s premiere: according to those that recieved the screeners (read: those that were lucky enough to land on HBO’s radar) the episodes they received seemed fairly low key. Classic Curb, to be sure, but nothing motivated by "big ideas" like Larry joining the cast of The Producers or the Seinfeld cast being brought back together. Is it possible that that’s this season’s "big idea"? "Larry Takes Manhattan"? If so, I’ll be happy to take it. That’s an idea rife with potential: Larry belongs in New York.Anyway, let’s get to tonight’s episode: last season’s final scene where we saw Larry and Cheryl coming this close to getting back together was dealt with immediately. Those that were hoping for the hilarious (not to mention luminous) Cheryl Hines to rejoin the cast full time might have been disappointed to see that it appears she’ll be largely absent this season. Before the title even popped up onscreen (accompanied by the ubiquitous Curb theme music), she was out the door, declaring that the divorce she’d been threatening Larry with throughout season eight was back on. Sorry, Cheryl fans: unless she finds a reason to pop up in New York, this looks like another "single Larry" season.Being single’s certainly on his mind: one of tonight’s subplots revolved around Larry convincing Marty Funkhauser (Super Dave Osbourne, for those keeping score at home) to get a divorce so they could be single together, while poor Jeff (Jeff Garlin) still married to Susie (Susie Essman) and looking great minus the 50 some odd pounds he lost recently bemoaned the fact that "everyone else gets to have a divorce but (him)". One wonders if Jeff might not attempt to join the club, though: if he doesn’t, why else would he join Larry in New York (which is where we’ve heard this season is heading)? Surely he wouldn’t drag Susie out there with him (though she’d be right at home)? Oh, well time will tell. The other major subplot was for this critic the episode’s highlight: Larry welcomed a Girl Scout into his house, only for her to have her very first period moments after walking into his foyer. Larry was then forced to walk the girl through her first tampon insertion (through a closed bathroom door, of course), a scene that ranks amongst the funniest I’ve ever witnessed on this series. As you might expect, the Girl Scout’s father whom Larry is in the process of getting friendly with had some issues with www.officialnflvikingsjerseys.com/Nike-Anthony-Barr-Jersey.html this situation, but we’ll say no more for those that haven’t yet had a chance to watch tonight’s premiere. It’s hard to grade this season of Curb on the basis of one episode impossible, in fact so be http://www.officialbrownsfootball.com/WOMENS-JOHNNY-MANZIEL-JERSEY.html aware that the score we’re applying below is only for tonight’s season premiere. Rather than go on, we’ll just say that we’re enormously happy to have Curb Your Enthusiasm back, that Larry’s just as funny as he’s ever been, and that with the possible exception of us missing the hell out of Cheryl Hines (fingers crossed that David finds a way to put her back on the show this season) the show’s just as solid as we expected it to be. Can’t wait to see where they go from here.Stay tuned for more funny videos, news, reviews, interviews, and more from Comedy Examiner HQ in the near future, folks.
